Land acquisition: EDC pays `12 cr

The Economic Development Corporation has handed over a cheque of Rs 12.77 crore to the State Government on account of interest accrued on money deposited towards land acquisition compensation.

The State government has deposited monies to be distributed as compensation for land acquisition with the EDC, the interest of which is annually paid to the government.   
Similarly, the government has received an amount of Rs 12.99 lakh from the Goa State Co-op Housing Finance & Federation Ltd as a dividend.  TGN

The Revenue department is expected to implement the Goa (right of citizens to time-bound delivery of public services) Act from April onwards.
